Hi.. the handle here is Karan,Now My call sign is VU2YEP,(Ex. VU3GTF) from New Delhi, India. I have been a ham since 1996.

I always got fascinated by the wireless devices specially the one’s through which one could send and receive voice (walkie talkie etc). When we came to New Delhi to our permanent QTH, I was introduced by my father who is now a SWL license holder to one of our neighbor Mr. Gulati, who is a Ham Radio operator, call sign VU2RKG. I started going to his home and he introduced me to the hobby. From there, it was not looking back.. I learnt Morse code and basic’s radio communication from him.

VU3FUN, handle – Rajesh is my elder brother, we both are at the same home QTH location, he already knew little about the hobby, however; later got firsthand experience at VU2RKG’s QTH. We were first introduced to the HF Bands.. 20 meters and then later we developed interest towards 2 meters and other ham bands. Our first Ham contact was VU2SMN, OM Suhas on 20 meter’s band.

I first started with a basic 2 meters 2 watts crystal based single freq. radio then later graduated to HF so on so forth. I have been enjoying various aspects in the wonderful world of Amateur Radio, specially Radio Equipment and Antennas.

I have actively participated during emergencies i.e ‘Orissa Super Cyclone’ 1999, ‘Tsunami Relief Activity’ 2004 supported by Amateur Radio operators. I supported through HF, VHF and through Echolink passing emergency & priority traffic from time to time.

I am active on HF, VHF & UHF and on the Echolink and look forward to have a QSO with you soon.

P.S. By the way, why I took "Golf Tango Fox" i.e. VU3GTF as my call-sign suffix .... well it was inspired by legendary comic character TINTIN and his famous comic book "Flight 714" and in that the aircraft's call-sign is "Golf Tango Fox"..... a small cliping of the book cover and the page where the aircraft's call is mentioned. Hats off to "Herge" for creating a character like TINTIN.
