Echolink® is now available on the Vigyan Prasar's New Delhi repeater VU2 DLR via VU2YEP-R or VU3FUN-R Echolink® node (Node# 64284) (Not available 24x7) (145.600 MHz [-ve Shift]). You can now talk to any number of repeaters throughout the world by just dialing a simple code!, from your radio's touch tone pad [DTMF] .Echolink® is developed by K1RFD. Echolink® uses VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, to communicate between our 2-meter repeater and the many thousands of Echolink® nodes around the world. By dialing a code, you then connect to a radio which is connected to a computer, the computer inturn connected to the internet. If you have the Echolink® software installed on a computer, with a fast enough internet connection, you can then connect via your computer to any of the nodes on the Echolink® system without a radio.

We Have Connected Vigyan Prasar's New Delhi VU2 DLR with a Home Brew Interface "DIGI VU" Developed by VU3 WJM. Technical help in installing the link successfully was provided by VU2 UKR. Right now the Repeater is being patched via a link from QTH of VU3 FUN & VU3 GTF, Later one day it may be done at the repeater site itself.

The Echolink® Node VU2DLR now runs with EchoProducer is a simple to use Windows XP utility that uses the Text to Speech engine that comes with Windows XP.This software is by EI4JR, Peter Homer.Ideal for Sysop/Owner of a Repeater / Link or Conference Controllers.There are many tools in this program that will assist you for running the link.This program runs along side the EchoLink program.

Some times the link also runs EchoTime, developed by KH2D. EchoTime TTS [Text to Speech] is a small program that uses the API of EchoLink® by K1RFD to provide a few additional functions that may be useful to someone operating an EchoLink® node. The program will work only with an EchoLink® node that is configured with a radio, it will not work if EchoLink® is configured in the computer user mode. EchoTime TTS provides the following functions Like:INFO File Announcements,HELP File Announcements, Local WEATHER Announcements,TIME Announcements, Call sign SEARCH,CONNECTIONS/DISCONNECTION Announcements, Connection Scheduler,and some other useful features.
